We’ve almost made it to one of the best fall nights of the year: Emmys night. Who will come out on top? We have Watchmen with 11 nominations, Succession with 10 nominations, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Schitt’s Creek each with 8 nominations. Will those series be the ones to win the most awards? This is how I see the awards going on Sunday.
The shows I hope bring home some wins (in order of likelihood) are Schitt’s Creek, Watchmen, The Crown, Unbelievable, Ramy, Pose, and Insecure. The only shows I’m not predicting in at least one category would be Insecure and Pose, which would be surprises but VERY happy surprises. Ramy Youssef is not the leader of the odds to win in either of his categories, but he may find himself an Emmy winner on Sunday if enough support is behind him. He definitely would have had mine. If Billy Porter can pull off a repeat win in Lead Actor in a Drama Series, the neighbors will hear my screams several doors down.
I will update this page live as the awards are being announced! I hope you tune in to the ceremony on ABC, as well.
Congratulations to Schitt’s Creek for their historic sweep, Watchmen and Succession with 4 wins each, and Zendaya with the history with the youngest Lead Actress in a Drama Series win ever for Euphoria. An incredible night overall!
